Photography and Autism Workshop
With the help of the Royal Photographic Society, I am very excited to be running a free, 5 week online photography workshop for small groups of autistic adults.
Passionate about photography and mental health, and keen to promote inclusion within education, the idea of setting up a photography workshop seemed the obvious direction to go in.
Sessions are on a Monday evening starting at 19.30 (GMT) and will last just over an hour.
During the workshop we look at four themes (shadows, reflections, patterns and textures) and each week participants are asked to carry out a practical exercise.
The following week, workshop participants then have the opportunity to share their images with the group and contribute to feedback.
During the course of the workshop we also explore some of the ways in which photography can help manage certain aspects of autism, for example by providing headspace and the opportunity to focus on projects.
The aim of the workshop is to provide a comfortable environment in which participants are encouraged to explore their individual creative expression through photography.
Accessibility is a key element to the workshop and no previous photographic experience is required nor do participants need any particular camera. In fact, a mobile phone is fine.
If you would like any further information about the workshop, then please leave a message via my Contact Page.
